Forza Horizon 5 was shown off during Gamescom 2021's Xbox Stream, giving fans a more in-depth look at what to expect from the upcoming driving game. Announced a couple of months ago, the game's new footage shows off a range of beautiful vehicles being dropped from the sky, adding to the battle royale feel the series has incorporated in recent years.

Once again, the devs touched on how big the in-game world will be. They also explained there will be 11 different biomes in Forza Horizon 5, which are designed to offer seamless transitions as players explore a stunning virtual recreation of Mexico. From a fierce, sandstorming desert to a dense, lush jungle, there are all manner of terrains to burn rubber on.

Cars will include the 2021 Ford Bronco Badlands, an SUV with some serious power, for when you're exploring the more inhospitable areas. Of course, a lot of us play Forza Horizon games to go as fast as we can. Lucky for us, the Mercedes-AMG One will be the cover car for Forza Horizon 5, serving up some serious speed. These are just some of the wide range of vehicles on show, which will feature more vehicles than any previous starting lineup.

The Eliminator battle royale returns, and the devs say the game type was a factor in designing the in-game world. This means the map should be better suited to the huge multiplayer mode, suggesting an improved experience from Forza Horizon 4.

The most exciting new feature appears to be the Event Lab, which is described as being "just short of a scripting editor". Player-created content will feature in-depth rule creation, and allow you to build anywhere within the in-game world. The devs have even admitted they don't know the levels community members will be able to reach through this mode.

Forza Horizon 5 will come to Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One and PC on November 5, 2021. It will come to Xbox Game Pass on day one for all platforms. Visually, the whole thing looks beyond gorgeous, offering 4K resolution on Xbox Series X. As for Series S, although resolution will be a relatively more modest, 1080p and ray-tracing will still be available.
