"The gaming influencer we choose will live and breathe all things gaming - skilled on Xbox and PC and in-the-know for all new releases and rumours," explained the retailer in the official press release. "They will also need to know exactly how to keep an online audience engaged as the face of gaming for GAME." Of course, the company has a combined audience of almost one and a half million people across their social media platforms, and it's no small task to tailor content to all of these different channels. For the right person with the right talents and personality by the bucketful, it's a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to grow their own brand and learn tricks of the trade in a unique environment.
GAME and Xbox are looking for someone who is savvy with their Xbox and PC, and lives and breathes content creation. They will need to be "inclusive and empowering" in their projects, though the methods of creating content isn't specifically stated. If you've got a blog following every minute change in Halo Infinite's development trajectory, or if you stream little-known indies that are available on Xbox Game Pass every other day, then you'll qualify. "The winner will get to take advantage of the Xbox Series X's powerful features, including 4K streaming and recording, to develop thrilling content to promote some of GAME'S biggest upcoming releases," enthused the company.
Oh, yes, you'll get an Xbox Series X for free, if you're successful. As well as the console, the winner will receive a twelve-month Xbox Game Pass Ultimate membership, a twelve-month BELONG and GAME Elite membership, and they'll be paid a monthly salary of £1,500 for three months. Splendid stuff. There are three rounds to complete, with the final announcement revealing who will be the next gaming influencer in February 2021.
So, how to enter? You'll need to record a video of yourself explaining your reasons for wanting to become the next gaming influencer. GAME and Xbox will also need to see footage of you playing one of the following: FIFA, Halo, Forza or Destiny. The video must be under two minutes long, so it's got to be grabbing from the get go. GAME will share their favourite entries to their social media channels, and already, people have jumped into the opportunity to show off their love for gaming. The competition closes on December 18th at midnight (GMT), and good luck to all who enter!
