After nearly ten years of waiting, Cyberpunk 2077 is less than 24 hours from releasing on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. It's been a long old road for one of the most antipcated games of the last few decades, but we're finally at the very end of it. Keanu Reeves, Night City, and a world of dildo collecting fun waits for us. We're so close.
Of course if you don't want to wait this last little stretch, there is a way to get the jump on your friends and play Cyberpunk 2077 a few hours early and avoid a telling-off from Keanu Reeves - at least on Xbox consoles, anyway.
Those in the know are probably already aware that it's possible to get access to games on Xbox a little bit earlier by changing your console's region to New Zealand. Being in a different time zone, your Xbox will then essentially assume that it's time to unlock Cyberpunk 2077 without fuss, and will grant you access. The good news is that this is super easy to do, and can be switched back whenever you want. As pointed out by VGC's Andy Robinson on Twitter, if you do this right now you'll get to play Cyberpunk 2077 early, so read on if you want and I'll guide you through the process.

To change your country or region, all you need to do is boot up your Xbox and hit the home button. Navigate to settings, then all settings, then system, and finally make your way to language & location. From here, simply select your new location - in this instance New Zealand - and hit the option to restart your console.
If you've already got Cyberpunk 2077 downloaded and ready to play, you should be able to boot up the game and start your adventure in Night City without issue. After the game unlocks in your region in the next day or so, just repeat the above process to switch back to your preferred region. Personally I'd rather keep on pretending I live in New Zealand - what a country.
