Embracing the memes with open arms, Microsoft is now giving away a fridge in the shape of the Xbox Series X, and you could be in for a chance to win one for yourself.

Late last year, when the console was unveiled to the world in a snazzy trailer about dreams and possibilities, the main takeaway that many people had was that it looked like a chunky lad. A very literal box to house your games; alternatively, an imposing tower to lord over your living room. Or, a sleek and menacing fridge that would be found in the kitchen of any self-respecting super villain. Of course, now we know that this wasn't always the intent with the design, and that the Xbox Series X underwent numerous iterations before landing on the monometric monolith.

Owing to a slight slip-up on Snoop Dogg's behalf, the Xbox Series X fridges were revealed earlier this week. However, what we didn't know is that these bad boys aren't only for content creators and entertainers. Microsoft is giving away an actual Xbox Series X fridge (worth $499) in a competition announced yesterday. The sweepstakes are open to all Xbox Live supported regions, and entrants must be a legal resident and over the age of 18. Those who have not reached the age of majority in their country must gain the consent of a parent or legal guardian; they'll need to "accept these Official Rules and execute all Contest paperwork on your behalf."

The instructions to enter the sweepstakes are simple. All people need to do is follow the official Xbox account on Twitter, and retweet this tweet and add the hashtag "#XSXFridgeSweeps" in the caption. Retweeting the tweet on a private account won't count towards an entry, so you'll need to come off private just for this. Also, not that you would, but retweets with captions that contain content that is "obscene or offensive, violent, defamatory, disparaging or illegal, or that promotes alcohol, illegal drugs, tobacco or a particular political agenda" will not be considered. It ends on November 4th, and may the odds be ever in your favour.

The Xbox Series X and Series S launch worldwide on November 10th, boasting titles like Assassins Creed Valhalla, NBA 2K21, Ori and the Will of the Wisps, and Sea of Thieves from day one. Right now, the battle between the next-generation consoles is neck and neck, with the PlayStation 5 sneaking ahead, according to the most recent findings from global search and online market share data.
