Xbox And Steam Users Can Get Free Access To One Of 2022's Best Horror Games

Access to one of the best horror titles of 2022 is available to Xbox and Steam users.

We all love a freebie and lately, there have been some juicy titles up for grabs. Hyper-realistic war shooter Tannenberg is currently free to download via the Epic Games Store until 28 July, and all PlayStation Plus subscribers can download new hit cat game Stray.

Today, I come to you with news of yet another nifty little find as Xbox and Steam users can currently get free access to one of 2022’s very best horror games. In fact, this is simply one of 2022's very best games altogether. I’m talking about The Quarry.

If you’re yet to dive into Supermassive Games’ latest title, check out the trailer for The Quarry below.

Xbox and Steam users can now access a free trial of The Quarry, which is a great place to start if you’re not yet sure if you want to dive into this wild and unsettling tale. It’s not yet known how long the free trial lasts for, but I’d imagine you’d get to play around an hour / the duration of the prologue before you’d be prompted to purchase the game - which is plenty of time to get a taste of the action.

As pointed out by VGC, Xbox players simply need to search for the game and select ‘Free Trial’ whilst Steam users can head to the specific free-to-play version of the game. The Quarry is a choice-driven adventure which centres around a group of summer camp counsellors whose final night of hedonistic fun takes a terrifying turn.

In our review, GAMINGbible’s Imogen wrote, “Rewarding those who are restrained as well as those who are reckless, The Quarry is nerve-shredding as a single-player game,” adding that “the sheer number and the intricacy of the possible paths have tempted me to see what happens if you choose a different course of action.” It’s a game that’s generated a lot of comparative discussions in the GAMINGbible team, so get your hands on this one folks.
