The best deal in gaming just got an awful lot better. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate - a monthly subscription service which already offers hundreds of classic first- and third-party Xbox, Xbox 360, and Xbox One titles - will soon throw in all the games available through EA Play (formerly EA Access), at no extra cost. I need a lie down.
Starting this holiday, your Game Pass Ultimate subscription will include access to over 60 extra EA games, including huge franchises like The Sims, Mass Effect, and FIFA. "This means Ultimate members can enjoy EA Play on Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S, and Windows 10 PCs, and Xbox Game Pass for PC members get EA Play on Windows 10," Microsoft explained in a blog post.

As well as access to all these extra EA games, having EA Play rolled into Game Pass Ultimate means that subscribers will also get ten-hour trials for many of the publisher's biggest upcoming titles. Naturally, this a pretty sweet deal for those of us who already have a subscription to Game Pass, and is sure to sweeten the pot for any gamers out there still considering making the jump.
This news comes off the back of the confirmation that Microsoft will launch the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S on November 10th at £450 and £250 respectively. It's clear Microsoft is really trying to push Game Pass even further as we head into the next-gen, as the company is giving consumers a way to pay for either of the new consoles monthly, rather than upfront.
For £28.99 a month for 24 months, you can get an Xbox Series X and two years of Game Pass Ultimate... which now includes pretty much every Xbox game there ever was, and every first-party exclusive there will ever be the day it launches. All that, plus a fat stack of EA games to boot. Not too shabby, Microsoft. Not too shabby at all.
