How to get away with murder.

According to a leak from Microsoft's official server, Hitman 3 is going to be free to play for Xbox players very soon, which is music to the ears of fans of the magnificent murder simulator.

One of those fans is our very own Julian Benson who called the game "exemplary" in his review from earlier this year. Citing the atmospheric Death in the Family mission that tasks Agent 47 with solving a murder (promise he didn't do this one, honestly) and the illustrious extravagance of the Burj Al-Ghazali building in Dubai, the game hands the player an arsenal of information and weapons with which to complete their objective.

Fortunately, if you're yet to dip your toes into the series, Julian also added that Hitman 3 is the "best way to play the Hitman series as well as being an essential new Hitman game in its own right." Sorted.

So, Nils Ahrensmeier reckons that they've found an image from Microsoft's official server stating that Hitman 3 will be included in next month's Games with Gold. This month's offerings were Mulaka, Zone of the Enders HD Collection, Warhammer: Chaosbane and Samurai Shodown 2 - those last two are still available to download if you've not hopped to it yet.

Still, Hitman 3 in Games With Gold would be a ginormous get for Xbox as the game released in January of this year and got a rapturous reception. The free games given to Xbox Live Gold members aren't usually this good (sorry, but if the shoe fits).

Players are more inclined to believe that Hitman 3 will be part of an upcoming Free Play Day, like Lost Judgment was just this weekend gone. If you only focus on the core of the game, Hitman 3 will take seven hours to complete, so it's not a bad shout for a free to play weekend. Of course, without any statement from IO Interactive nor Microsoft, we aren't able to say for sure whether or not it's coming to the service. Watch this space, I suppose.
