Have you struggled to get your hands on an Xbox Series X or Xbox Series S in time for launch? Are you feeling a little upset or annoyed that you won't be getting a next-gen console while everybody else around you is busy playing with theirs? Yeah, you might not want to watch this video of a dude smashing up an Xbox Series X for his YouTube channel.

Plainrock124 is a YouTuber with a fairly controversial rep for obtaining shiny new hardware and then seeing how much punishment it can take. He never stops until the tech is good and broken either, so it's fair to say he's produced some fairly hard-to-watch content over the years. However, this latest video in which he destroys a brand-new Xbox Series X might just be one of the most difficult things I've watched in some time.

Take a look at the video below, or via this link. Oh, and before you start, he says he's also ordered a PlayStation 5 and will be smashing that up too. I honestly don't know if that makes this better or worse.

With everything going on in the world right now, I obviously have my concerns with a 10-minute video in which somebody does everything they can to completely body a £500 piece of kit. Those concerns don't mean a ton to Plainrock's loyal viewers, however, who regard any comments about wastefulness as missing the point of the content. The internet can be a terrifying and entirely off-putting place some days.

Still, the vast majority of people who've watched the video so far don't seem to have a problem with watching an Xbox Series X get destroyed, and a lot of them have admitted they haven't been able to get one yet. Maybe I'm a curmudgeon who's missing something, or maybe this kind of content just isn't for me.

Watching Plainrock tear into the Xbox Series X packaging knowing he was never going to need that box again was alarming enough. The moment he started bouncing controller on the ground as hard as he could stung too. The part where he used an actual fridge to smash the console itself? I have to admit that was pretty inventive. But after that I took no pleasure in watching the console beaten to death - although I should point out that the Xbox Series X can clearly take one hell of a beating.

Needless to say, I don't think I'll be watching the PS5 video when that drops. I can't imagine that'll help the wait for my own console.
