'Stray' Modder Accepting Commissions To Add Your Cat Into The Game

'Stray' Modder Accepting Commissions To Add Your Cat Into The Game

In a wholesome turn of events, a modder offers to turn your furry friend into a playable video game protagonist.

Stray is quickly on its way to becoming the most modded game of all time (probably). At this rate, it'll overtake Grand Theft Auto V and even Gary's Mod on the list of games most tinkered with. Modders have been indulging in the possibilities of Stray, with innocent changes like the cat's colour, to the twisted and nightmarish CJ mod.

Now, though, we have some truly wholesome news, which will hopefully cleanse your spirit of the meowing Grove Street gangster. A modder has been accepting commissions to turn gamers' own cats into a playable character in Stray.

In case you missed it, here are some shots of real life cats reacting to Stray.

The heroic modder in question is NorskPL, and they were accepting commissions on a name-your-own-price basis, depending on the complexity.

At the moment, NorskPL has suspended their acceptance of new commissions until August 15th because, well, they've blown up of late. In a post on their Ko-Fi page, they said: "Unfortunately, for the time being I have to suspend the acceptance of further requests for a period of two weeks. The reason for this is the very high volume of orders. Thank you for placing your trust in me. All requests that I have accepted up to now (on discord, here and on nexusmods) will be fulfilled by 15 august."

They've been modding since 2014, primarily in the Mafia series of games. It's with Stray, though, that they seem to have found a booming business. Even when August 15th comes around, it looks like there's going to be a long waiting list, so we'd sign up fast if you want to take control your four legged friend (because, as we all know, they answer to no one IRL).

This is one of the most wholesome success stories we've heard for quite a while, and we wish NorskPL the best of luck for the future - it looks busy!
