Review: EZ Desk Carbon Edition Is The Desk I Never Knew I Needed

I’ve always been a huge fan of standing desks, ever since being introduced to them a few years back. It’s the perfect setup to make sure you stretch your legs and you’re not just sitting down for hours on end. The EZ Desk Carbon Edition enhances this set up with a few handy additions that I didn’t know I needed until discovering them.

Like many standing desks out there, the EZ Desk uses an electric motor to adjust its height. And although it’s advertised as whisper quiet, it still makes a notable noise when in operation. But that’s one minor negative for an otherwise really handy desk.

The digital control pad lets you adjust the height very precisely so that it’s just right for you, and as someone who is below average height, this was something that I really appreciated. On top of that, the control pad lets you save the height that you like the desk at, for both sitting and standing modes.

Along with the memory system, what also makes this desk standout is the fact that it has a reminder system built in - literally to remind you to stretch your legs. These two features help to make sure that you’re properly looking after yourself and not spending too long in one position. As someone who can be quite forgetful, I do more often than not neglect to stretch myself and end up sitting for hours on end. It’s great to have a system built into the desk to push me to stand up once an hour, and if you want more regular intervals you can set it to 15 or 30 minutes, too.

Of course, this can’t be a gamer desk without some extras. It also comes with a cup holder, which frees up space for you on the actual desk, along with a headphone holder and a faux leather black mousepad. All handy little inclusions, to help keep your desk clutter free. With that said though, it would’ve been nice to have some storage on there, for any wires or extra bits.

All in all though, the winning factor of this desk is its adjustable height feature, so what I lose in storage I gain in maintaining a healthy body and posture. I didn’t realise I needed these extra features in a standing desk until trying out the EZ Desk Carbon Edition, so safe to say I’ve had a pleasant time with it - and will continue to, for both work and play.

The EZ Desk Carbon Edition is available now on EZ Shopper. The desk we used for review was provided by the manufacturer.
