HyperX Armada 27 QHD Gaming Monitor review: excellent visuals with added convenience

HyperX Armada 27 QHD Gaming Monitor review: excellent visuals with added convenience

Easy to use and look at

As I bathe in the glow of the HyperX Armada’s 27-inch screen, fully enraptured by the 2560x1440 resolution, I ask myself if I’ve ever truly loved a gaming monitor before, or any PC monitor for that matter. Well, I’m in love with this one now, that’s for sure.

Take a look at the HyperX Armada 27 Gaming Monitor here

I mean, the stunning display is one thing, but the included desk mount is so easy to use that I find myself just looking at it sometimes. The Armada 27 QHD Gaming Monitor comes with its own, all-new mount system that clamps onto the back of my Secretlab desk with user-friendly ease (although I had to remove my cable nest but I wasn’t using it), yet feels entirely secure, no matter how much I move the screen.

The signature desk mount is capable of accommodating multiple monitors, too. Although it’s designed with HyperX units in mind, featuring an easy attachment for Armadas, it’s possible to add different monitors to suit your needs so long as they use VESA 75mm and 100km patterns. An extra component from HyperX is required for each additional monitor you add, and it’ll cost you about £80.

It’s worth noting that I was previously using a 22-inch Hannspree monitor which offers 1080p resolution at most, so the Armada 27 has it beat in terms of both size and resolution Still, even compared to other gaming monitors I’ve used in the past, this HyperX model feels like a big step forward for PC play.

Running it with my Chillblast Fnatic Champion Gaming PC, the Armada was serving up stunning QHD Fortnite with over 180fps. The RTX 3070 Ti was in perfect harmony with its new HyperX friend as I took in the streets of Night City in Cyberpunk 2077, or when swinging through Manhattan in Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered. No matter what I played, each title appeared as beautiful as the last.

As I mentioned already, the desk mount is equally as impressive. Available to buy separately for around £110, it’s a worthy investment for anyone running monitors of the above spec and size. It’s strong and stable while never feeling stiff, always moving fluidly when required.

Overall, I adore this thing. It’s got the width, resolution and user-friendly design that makes it ideal for anyone looking to get QHD graphics on a desk-mounted display. The HyperX Armada 27 QHD Gaming Monitor is mesmerising in every way.

The HyperX Armada 27 QHD Gaming Monitor is available now. Review unit supplied by manufacturer. Armada monitors are currently only available from Game.
