GTA 6 fan uses hype for the game to quit smoking

That's one way to quit

Gaming can do great things, whether that's on the grand scale of things like Games Done Quick or similar marathons to aid charities, or on a smaller, more personal scale.

One GTA fan is so eager to play GTA 6 and enjoy it properly that it's nudged them into quitting smoking. The player ventured onto Reddit to share their decision saying "I am so hyped for GTA 6 the thought of being in hospital or on heavy medication as a result of cigarettes has got me to quit cold turkey."

The excitement around GTA 6 is making fans do some amazing things

According to the original post this player has been a "fairly heavy smoker for a while now" and they have noticed it taking a toll on their health. With this in mind and with their enthusiasm for GTA 6 growing, they thought it was a good signal to quit smoking. Their post ended with "I will not miss out on this game and want to be in my best possible health for it. Today is 10 days free. Thanks Rockstar!"

Lots of other players jumped in to congratulate the Redditor; some are giving words of encouragement, others are simply cheering them on. One user, u/WhiteStar751 was very encouraging with "Good for you! Remember, some days will be harder than others but just keep going, best of luck on your journey!" While u/z0mbi1e1fy teased with "Good for you dude, but please when GTA 6 eventually arrives, don't go back to smoking."

Linking a passion for gaming with the will to stay healthy is a good one, and if it means that one more person quits smoking, then that's a brilliant result to be celebrated. Hopefully, the original poster keeps up the momentum and enjoys the GTA 6 trailer in early December.
