Amouranth updates concerned fans after domestic abuse claims

Twitch streamer Amouranth has returned to the site days after revealing that she'd been stuck in an abusive relationship.

The following article contains references to domestic abuse.

In recent days, Twitch streamer Kaitlyn ‘Amouranth’ Siragusa, one of the most popular streamers on the platform, revealed to viewers that she’d been living in fear of her husband’s abusive behaviour.

Siragusa detailed screenshots to her viewers, showing disturbing conversations between the couple. During a phone call to her husband, Siragusa said, “You just said you were going to kill my dogs if I didn’t do a 24-hour stream.” Reportedly, Siragusa’s husband encouraged her to pretend to be single for “financial opportunities.”

The streamer went on to explain that her husband controlled her finances and threatened to “burn it all” on cryptocurrency. The stream, which has since been removed from Siragusa’s channel, ended abruptly after a woman could be heard off camera asking if Siragusa had taken her medication. Siragusa appeared to be confused by the question.

The stream quite understandably left many fans feeling concerned and worried for Siragusa’s welfare but she has now updated followers. As reported by Dexerto, Siragusa explained, “I think when he heard himself on that call, it really sunk in how much of an asshole he is. It’s like he never f**king realised.”

Siragusa confirmed that she’s seeking legal counsel. “So as of today, I have access to all of my accounts and finances again. He’s not here,” she said. “He’s seeking help. I’m seeking legal and emotional counsel.”

She continued, “That’s partly why I haven’t been on. Just dealing with everything. Lots of random visitors and cop calls. Very fun.” Fellow streamers, including Natalia ‘Alinity’ Mogollon, are known to have checked in on Siragusa following last week’s stream.

“I’m positive about the future. I’m happy that I’m free. I’m glad the dogs are ok,” Siragusa affirmed. Siragusa joked that she’d be “wearing clothes” on streams going forwards and would be putting her own stamp on her channel again. “I don’t know what I’m going to do next,” she said. “Hopefully a lot more animal streams. It’s gonna take some time to process.”
