Assassin's Creed 3 Unreal Engine 5 remake is a thing of beauty

Assassin's Creed 3 Unreal Engine 5 remake is a thing of beauty

Connor but not forgotten

When I ask people what their favourite Assassin's Creed game is, I'm usually hit by the same handful of responses:

  • "Assassin's Creed II!"
  • "Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag!"
  • "How on Earth did you get into my house? You're making my children uncomfortable."
  • "Assassin's Creed Origins!"

Nobody ever shows any love to Assassin's Creed III, and that's a damn shame. A lot of fans agree that the game's protagonist, Connor Kenway, should have gotten a sequel by now. Of course, given the collective shrug Assassin's Creed III is greeted with by the majority, this is unlikely to ever happen.

The good news is there are those out there who refuse to give up on poor old Connor, and work tirelessly to give him the respect he deserves. Enter a stunning Unreal Engine 5 remake of Assassin's Creed III that has gone down an absolute storm with fans.

The video from Remastered Gaming, which you can see below, is a stunning effort that dares to imagine a remake of 2012 sequel on modern hardware.

"Beautiful," one fan enthused in the comments. "Finally, Connor the recognition, love, and respect that you deserved after so long."

As cool as it would be to see the 2012 game revisited on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series Consoles, a remake of Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag is reportedly in development at the moment... So I wouldn't count on seeing an official Assassin's Creed III remake any time soon.

In the meantime, Ubisoft has big plans for Assassin's Creed that include that long-awaited trip to Japan. Assassin's Creed Red is expected to launch this year, though recent reports suggest it could possibly end up launching early 2025. Either way, we can't wait to dive into a brand-new open-world Assassin's Creed adventure, especially one in a setting we've waited so long to see.
