Assassin's Creed free downloads announced by Ubisoft

Assassin's Creed free downloads announced by Ubisoft

It's always nice to claim some free Assassin's Creed DLC!

The Assassin’s Creed series is one of Ubisoft’s crown jewel properties and with the arrival of the next entry this week, fans can’t wait to show off their best stealth skills.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage stars a young assassin named Basim Ibn Ishaq, whom we first met in 2020’s Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. However, Mirage is set 12 years prior to the events of Valhalla in the year 861 in Baghdad, during Iraq’s Golden Age.

For better or worse, the Assassin’s Creed series is no stranger to microtransactions from additional skins, and weapons, as well as the dreaded ‘time savers’ and of course, expansions too. Ironically, Assassin’s Creed Mirage reportedly began its life as an expansion to Valhalla, before evolving into a standalone game.

There are also plenty of free pieces of DLC that fans of the Assassin’s Creed series can claim. Some of that free content may appear via an in-game store, a seasonal event or as a Ubisoft Connect reward.

In case you didn't know, Ubisoft Connect is an ecosystem that expands across most Ubisoft titles on multiple platforms. It’s a place that can track your gaming stats, allows you to connect with friends and most importantly, can reward you with DLC that can be acquired by spending loyalty points. Those loyalty points can be earned by completing in-game objectives or by making purchases via the official Ubisoft Store.

With Assassin’s Creed Mirage arriving this week, fans can claim DLC via Ubisoft Connect. Some of the DLC will be purchasable with the aforementioned loyalty points and some will be totally free, just by being a member of Ubisoft Connect and connecting your Ubisoft games to the account.

As shared in a Reddit post, the free piece of Ubisoft Connect DLC is Basim’s attire that he wore in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. Other content includes outfits inspired by Altair from the original Assassin’s Creed and Ezio’s outfit in Revelations. You can also claim a skin for your Shahbaz ‘eagle-eyed’ bird, some in-game currency and more.

In recent news, fans have hailed Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag as the ‘definitive’ game in the series and the map of Mirage is said to be so accurate that it apparently made a historian cry.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage will be released this week on 5 October for PC, PlayStation and Xbox.
