I'm slightly in awe of the new trailer for Assassin's Creed Jade, a game that looks far, far prettier than it has any right to.
While the Assassin's Creed franchise has taken players to China before, this is the first open-world RPG entry in the series to give us this beautiful setting, and it looks every inch as incredible as I'd hoped.
During the recent Ubisoft Forward event we were treated to an extended look at the in-development RPG, and learned some brand-new details about the adventure. But first, take a look at the trailer below!
Assassin's Creed Jade is a full-blooded Assassin's Creed game that's being developed in Unreal Engine. It has everything you'd expect from an Assassin's Creed adventure, including a vast open world, impressive visuals, parkour, and plenty of bloody stealth and combat. The only difference is that Assassin's Creed Jade is being developed for mobile devices.

The game takes place between Assassin's Creed Odyssey and Assassin's Creed Origins, allowing players to explore Ancient China in 3 BC, during the rise of the Qin Dynasty. For the first time ever in an Assassin's Creed game, players will be able to make their very own assassin from scratch.
While this game undoubtedly looks the part, our only real concerns at this point revolve around how the game is played. Ubisoft has assured us that it's working hard to incorporate touch controls that feel intuitive and support the traditional flow of an AC game, but the proof of the pudding will be in the eating. Or, you know, playing in this case. There's also no word on microtransactions, pricing, or in-game economy at this stage, but we'd imagine that's going to be a decisive factor in how much people enjoy this game.
While Ubisoft has made it clear that development is still very much ongoing for Assassin's Creed Jade, an open beta will be available later on this summer. Players can sign up to get involved and learn more right here.
