Assassin's Creed meets John Wick in stunning new action game

Have you ever wanted a game that blends Assassin's Creed and John Wick? Well, here's SPINE

If there was ever an ideal video game and movie collaboration it would be the worlds of Assassin’s Creed and John Wick. After all, both offer relentless assassins, charisma and brutality in abundance.

Sadly, while the worlds of Assassin’s Creed and John Wick won't be collaborating anytime soon, we may at least have the next best thing, perhaps with an added hint of Cyberpunk 2077. Powered by Unreal Engine 5, that game in question is an indie title developed by Nekki and it’s called SPINE, described as being a “Gun Fu” title.

Check out the SPINE trailer below!

“Ever wondered what it's like to be the hero of an action movie? To find yourself in the epicentre of the action, kicking the gun out of your opponent's hand, or parrying a bullet with your trusty katana?” reads the official description of the game. “Look no further! SPINE is a cinematic game about close-quarters gunfights. Become the hero of your favourite action movie, grab your guns, enhance your reflexes with a Spine augmentation, and get ready to fight!”

It continues: “The game unveils the story of a cyberpunk city in the near future. Have you heard the news that Tensor AI transformed this city into a literal heaven on Earth? Or would you prefer to listen to the whispers of the opposition? Join the fights on the city streets and participate in the global conflict of powerful factions while seeking personal revenge against the system. The environments and situations where you'll meet your enemies are inspired by our endless love for action movies.”

Judging by the gameplay trailer, it looks like the actual gameplay kicks in at around halfway through the trailer. To be honest, SPINE looks awesome and I hope that it looks every bit as fun and stylish as it does in the trailer.

At this time SPINE does not have a release date but we do know that it will eventually be released on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. We’ll of course keep you posted as and when we hear of any further updates on the promising-looking game that is SPINE.
