Assassin's Creed Origins 2 could be on the horizon

Assassin's Creed Origins 2 could be on the horizon

Could we finally see Assassin's Creed Origins?

With many entries in the Assassin’s Creed series, it can be difficult for some to select just four entries for the proverbial Mount Rushmore. However, one title that may be on the list of some is Assassin’s Creed Origins.

Released in 2017, Assassin’s Creed Origins could be considered the best of the Ubisoft “RPG trilogy” and I would agree. Set in ancient Egypt, it explores the origins of the Assassin Brotherhood and the sinister Templars. At the heart of its story is the soul mate couple of Bayek and Aya. I won't give anything away but their story will pull on the strings of many emotions and will keep you engaged throughout and wanting more by the time Assassin’s Creed Origins has come to its conclusion.

During an interview with Den of the Geek, it’s revealed that we’re not the only ones who would love to see more Assassin’s Creed Origins or at least when it comes to Bayek and Aya, because the actor behind Bayek, Abubakar Salim would love to see it too. “I want a sequel, man. Like I’m ready!” said Salim. The actor added that he’d be “100% there” if Ubisoft wanted to make it happen. “I think it’s one of those things where, yeah, it just didn’t feel like the story was finished yet. So I would jump at it.”

Salim was then asked if Assassin’s Creed Origins 2 was to happen, where would it be set? “Probably Greece, actually. I know we’ve already kind of touched upon Greece in Odyssey, but I think there could be something really cool about jumping in at that time frame as well and seeing what that looked like,” he said.

Will we see Assassin's Creed Origins 2 one day? I’m not so sure, as Ubisoft hasn't given us too many direct sequels in this iconic series. Yet, you can never say never, I suppose. I’d like to see it happen but the ball is most certainly in Ubisoft’s court.

Assassin’s Creed Origins is out now on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. It’s also backwards compatible with PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
