Assassin's Creed Valhalla gets stunning 8K RTX graphics overhaul

Swede like to see more

Assassin's Creed Valhalla is a massive game. A real hefty lad. Some would argue that it's a little too big for its own good, but few would disagree that it's anything other than beautiful.

From the frozen peaks of Scandinavia to the lush forests and rivers of England, Assassin's Creed Valhalla is a consistently stunning game. Heck, I'd argue it's the best-looking Assassin's Creed game Ubisoft has ever released. Even if it is a massive slog to play.

Take a look at some of the best Assassin's Creed Valhalla wins and fails below!

If you were wondering if it's possible for Assassin's Creed Valhalla to get even sexier, however, the answer is "yes". YouTuber Digital Dreams has released a gorgeous new video showing off the open-world game running in 8K on an NVIDIA RTX 4090 with Reshade Ray Tracing.

The footage in the video, which you can see here, was captured on an AMD Ryzen 9 7950X with a Samsung EVO 970 SSD and 32GB of DDR5 RAM at 6000Mhz. In other words, the game would probably melt your PC if you tried to run it looking this good.

Seeing the game in motion is absolutely unbelievable, especially since it seems to maintain a silky smooth 60fps while looking as good as it does. I'm not sure what witchcraft is at work here, but the result is jaw-dropping.

In other Assassin's Creed news, fans who got access to the Assassin's Creed Jade open beta are having a great time with the mobile game - although there are some early concerns.

"Amongst the positives, I really like the setting," writes Reddit user IwIlLcHaNgEtHiSL8r The map looks and feels like a great place to explore and the free roaming is decent. Combat is fluid and fun with an interesting 'loadout' swap mechanic that adds to the depth. I also enjoy the story and characters so far with a delightful tie to Odyssey and AC 2 lore."

As for negatives? IwIlLcHaNgEtHiSL8r expresses concern about Jade's use of typical mobile mechanics; namely level grinding and meaningless upgrades. There's a fear the game could become a "money grabbing soulless live service cash cow".
