Call of Duty popular villain seemingly set to make a surprise return

Call of Duty popular villain seemingly set to make a surprise return

Who's that villain?!

Separating fact from fiction has proven a monumental task when it comes to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. And while we hate to potentially add to the fiction column, all reports suggest that a popular villain from the franchise is soon to return.

This casting tease comes at a time when, despite the onslaught of negativity towards Modern Warfare 3, the game has still managed to break engagement records. Yes, we’re as shocked about that one as you are – it feels very much like Activision trolling us again by claiming the game was met with “great response” from fans. Yet it's the truth, so we move on.

If Valeria doesn't return, there's always Nicki Minaj in Modern Warfare 2 to entertain us instead!

Although it’s doubtful that a surprise return of a fan-favourite character will save the day here, it will undoubtedly keep Call of Duty in the minds of all its players, even the disgruntled ones. So, who might be returning? None other than Valeria Garza.

Even though Valeria is a well-known antagonist of the franchise, that hasn’t stopped fans from declaring their love for the character – sometimes, the villain just steals the show.

Motion captured and voiced by actress María Elisa Camargo, Valeria commands any scenes she’s in, and now that a picture has been posted online with Camargo in mocap gear, people wonder if she’s about the dominate MW3. To further support this solid theory, the MW3 logo is on the clapperboard she's holding.

Whether Valeria will play a pivotal role in the upcoming MW3 seasons still remains to be seen, as does the official confirmation that the character is back. Nevertheless, that lack of confirmation won’t stop fans from hoping for a final confrontation between Alejandro Vargas and Valeria Garza. We’re owed it after MW2 left us hanging, waiting for a showdown that never really came.

This, coupled with the news that Modern Warfare 3 is going to get a The Walking Dead crossover, is sure to keep that engagement stats up!
