Major 'Cyberpunk 2077' Updates And DLC Quietly Delayed To 2022

Major 'Cyberpunk 2077' Updates And DLC Quietly Delayed To 2022

All of Cyberpunk's future updates will come in 2022 and beyond

At this point, I think I expect everything and anything Cyberpunk 2077 related to be delayed. It doesn’t matter what portion of the game, big or small, it seems that there is just something about that project that means CD Projekt Red continually underestimates the time and dedication needed to polish it. I’m not a game developer so I can’t say why that might be, but as a writer, I can inform you that all other Cyberpunk 2077 updates have been quietly delayed into 2022.

As reported by PlayStation Lifestyle, all updates scheduled for Cyberpunk 2077 will now arrive in 2022. Tyler McVicker on Twitter noticed the roadmap for the game’s future had changed without a CD Projekt announcement and it seems that everything that is still set to come to Cyberpunk 2077 will arrive from 2022 onwards.

Here is what Cyberpunk 2077 would look like if it was a little more Borderlands...

It’s not a surprise that these updates and free DLC have been delayed. We joke about delays being part of CD Projekt Red’s history but actually, the team had already announced that the new-gen updates of both Cyberpunk and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt had already been delayed into next year. It then makes sense that we’re not going to be hearing more about the downloadable content coming to the sci-fi RPG until 2022 too.

So what will these updates be? Of course performance updates and possible quality of life changes will come to the game in time, but there should also be some expansions to the world and quests too. If you played The Witcher 3 you’ll know it had two incredible stories that followed the original game, Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine. For Cyberpunk the original launch of the game claimed expansions would be similarly important to fleshing out the world.

As reported by PC Gamer, CDPR says: “Our planned expansions will take you even deeper into the world of Cyberpunk 207, offering substantial, story-driven content that'll give you tough choices to make through impactful narratives that you won't soon forget.” Does that mean the game will get a full story DLC in 2022? We hope so - it’ll be a good chance for the developer to redeem itself and get people to try the game again with all the improvements it should have had at launch.
