Christopher Judge responds to Dave Bautista as Kratos in God Of War series

Christopher Judge has expressed that he doesn't agree with the idea that Dave Bautista should be Kratos in the God of War TV series.

With work on the God of War TV series officially underway, fans have been busy speculating about just who the main cast will be. As you’d expect, Christopher Judge, Kratos’ actor in both God of War (2018) and Ragnarök, has got some strong opinions about this, too.

Christopher Judge is an excellent actor. Just last month, he won Best Performance at The Game Awards for his work as Kratos in Ragnarök, which was super deserved (he also apparently made the longest acceptance speech in history for it). However, it’s not currently known if he’ll be stepping into Kratos’ boots in Amazon’s live-action series, which has led to people theorising about who could take on the role instead. Recently, it’s been suggested that Dave Bautista could be a good pick.

Maybe it could even be Ben Stiller, who’s already been Kratos in this strange Ragnarök ad.

Bautista certainly does have Kratos’ look down - in fact, in The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special, a subtle reference was made which compared his character, Drax, to “the God of War”. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is set to be Bautista’s final outing as the loveable character - he stated that “it’s a silly performance, and I want to do more dramatic stuff”. Well, playing Kratos certainly would fit the bill there.

Judge, however, clearly isn’t sold on the idea. On Twitter, he responded to one tweet calling for Bautista to take up the Leviathan axe, and wrote: “And it’s been said I can’t read a room.” He later added: “Don’t get me wrong, I think Dave Bautista is great, but…”

Others have been backing up Judge: “If you’re not the one playing Kratos, I’m not watching,” @JoshySinger replied. “Keep fighting for it and let everyone know who Kratos is. No one knows the character better than you, nuff said,” wrote @NidgeOCE.

Details about the series are still pretty light on the ground - hopefully, we’ll see a trailer sometime soon and have Kratos' live-action actor confirmed once and for all.
