If you have ever wondered what it was like to play Cyberpunk 2077 with a bit of The Sims mixed in, then look no further as one free brutal mod gives you a lot more to worry about.

Cyberpunk 2077 has been a modder’s heaven since it was released back in 2020. With any open-world RPG, there is always room for improvement and that was seemingly the thoughts of Nexus Mod user ‘DiCrash’ when creating the Survival System mod for the CD Projekt Red title.

Check out the Cyberpunk 2077 - Phantom Liberty trailer below!

The Survival System mod “fundamentally changes the importance of food, water and rest” in Cyberpunk 2077, making the three needs beneficial to staying alive and healthy. Up until now, eating, sleeping and drinking in the game have been purely optional and offer no real benefits. However, with this mod, completing these tasks will drastically affect the game.

Once installed, your V will now find themselves with an energy, satiation and hydration bar which allow players to monitor their stats at all times.

Energy can be improved by sleeping in beds but not doing this will affect your character’s maximum health, health regeneration, maximum stamina, stamina regeneration and memory and its recovery. Not eating will also affect these things as well as jump height and carrying capacity. Last but not least, not drinking also applies the same debuffs as well as an impact on movement speed.

Not only that but food and drink will also become more expensive in Night City, meaning you will have to keep an eye on your eddies if you wish to survive.

This mod is just one of many added to Cyberpunk 2077 to keep the RPG new and interesting which it certainly deserves after a rocky few years. However, with the game now rated as one of gaming’s best open worlds, it is safe to say it has come a long way.
