Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty file size confirmed, and it's a hefty lad

The final countdown to Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty is on. In case you’ve forgotten, Cyberpunk 2077’s first and only full expansion is set to release on 26 September.

I say it’s the only expansion as we know that CD Projekt RED developers are now switching their attention to the next instalment in The Witcher series. It’s certainly not the end of the road for the franchise though, as Project Orion - Cyberpunk 2077’s sequel - has entered pre-production. Let’s not get too far ahead of ourselves. The upcoming Phantom Liberty is set to introduce Idris Elba’s Solomon Reed, plus a number of new and revamped gameplay mechanics - including vehicular combat and updated enemy AI. Some of these updates will be coming to the base game in Update 2.0 but today, we’re here to discuss Phantom Liberty’s hefty file size.

As reported by Dexerto, Phantom Liberty’s file size has seemingly leaked online - and it’s pretty big. It’s believed that the DLC expansion will take up 32GB of your storage, so you better clear out your PC or console’s storage - particularly when you consider the size of the base game on top of that that you’ll also need to have installed.

Still, it bodes well as a large file size should hopefully mean a ton of content. We know that in addition to its new location, quests and side quests, Phantom Liberty will also include redesigned cyberware, redesigned perks, new relic skill tree, revamped police, new vehicles, new vehicular combat, mounted weaponry, an increased level cap, and ‘endless dynamic events’.

Many of these upgraded mechanics will also come to the base game in the aforementioned upcoming Update 2.0. We don’t have an exact release date for Update 2.0 but it’s expected to release ahead of Phantom Liberty.
