The Elder Scrolls and The Witcher collide in huge new free RPG

The Elder Scrolls and The Witcher collide in huge new free RPG

A new MMORPG on the horizon

The world always needs more RPGs. Whether it needs more MMORPGs is harder to decide, but that's not stopping Amazon Games from pumping out another one so soon after New World.

New World, though it suffered a little at launch, has managed to hold onto plenty of players, and Amazon along with NCSoft, are hoping to catch lightning in a bottle once again with Throne and Liberty.

Amazon Games managed to launch a successful MMORPG and compete with World of Warcraft

Not a great deal is known about Throne and Liberty currently, the Steam page only lists the game as 'coming soon' and gives a short blurb on what to expect. The game takes place in "the vast open world of Solisium. You can scale expansive mountain ranges for new vantage points, scan open skies, traverse sprawling plains, explore a land full of depth and opportunity."

Throne and Liberty is set to bring a does of PvPvE, allowing players to combat other players, while also playing against the environment, monsters and bosses. It seems the world and its missions will "evolve" as "battlefields impacted by weather, time of day, and other players. There is no single path to victory as you seek to defeat Kazar and claim the throne while keeping rival guilds at bay."

The trailer, which takes us on a tour through the world of Solisium, shows off a truly beautiful world filled with stunning landscapes, giant monsters, and plenty of spell-slinging magic. There's a large dollop of personality in creating your own character and guiding them through the world, harnessing your character class to do battle alongside other players.

The monster design is gnarly and varies from hulking lions to animated trees, all crafted with amazing detail, showing off a high level of danger. You can currently sign up for a tech test for the game.
