Once upon a time, there was a film called Twilight. Based on the books by Stephenie Meyer, the series of films was an international sensation for two reasons. Teens (girls, especially) loved them, and it seemed everyone who wasn’t a teen, hated them. And by association hated the two main actors; Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson.
Fast forward ten or so years, multiple critically acclaimed performances by both actors, and the reveal that Robert Pattinson is going to be the next Batman, and fans and haters of the original Twilight series have had an idea of how to get the two acting together once again. It’s no secret that both actors sort of hate Twilight. They were made fun of for years in their roles and that surely had a lasting impact on them. But even so, seeing Pattinson play Batman across from Stewart’s Joker would be hilarious, and a nod to the series that made them both international A-listers.

As reported by Variety, fans on social media have been backing the idea of seeing the two return to the big screen together, and so the outlet decided to ask Stewert what she thought of the prospect. When asked she said: “I love the energy behind that. It’s really been done so well. I feel like, maybe, we don’t traipse over, but I love that gusto. Let’s figure something else out. I’m totally down to play a freaky, scary person.”
When asked if it was a definite no, she said: Not ‘no,’ but not the most stoked I’ve ever been. Let’s do something new.” So huh, unless there is something really drawing her to the role, it seems this particular casting dream isn’t going to come true. My teenager heart is breaking, but my adult brain thinks, yeah perhaps that’s fair enough.
