Far Cry 3 gets astounding Unreal Engine 5 remake

Far Cry 3 gets astounding Unreal Engine 5 remake

This fan-made Far Cry 3 Unreal Engine 5 remake concept trailer is an incredible glimpse at what could be.

If there is one thing that Far Cry fans want, it is a remake of the 2012 instalment Far Cry 3 - and not just because it introduced us to one of the best gaming antagonists of all time. Although Ubisoft shows no signs of modernising the classic, one YouTuber has given us a sneak peek at what it could look like built in Unreal Engine 5.

Released back in 2012, Far Cry 3 was the third main instalment in the Far Cry series and the entry that introduced us to Vaas Montenegro, a villain you will often find in ‘gaming’s top antagonists of all time’ lists. Since Far Cry 3, there have been three more main instalments and four spin off entries to the franchise but fans are still calling out for a remake.

Thankfully, one YouTuber, TeaserPlay, who is quite handy with Unreal Engine 5 has created a Far Cry 3 remake concept trailer which gives us a look at a modern-day preview. Featuring sparkling seas, lush jungles and a gorgeous blue sky, Rook Islands has never looked better and Vaas has never looked so menacing. Our first look at a hyper-realistic Vaas is both terrifying and exciting and we can only imagine how much more intimidating he would be on Unreal Engine.

It is no surprise that Far Cry 3 has received calls for a remake over the past 10-plus years with the entry being widely considered as the best in the series. To this day, the open-world adventure game is hailed as a masterpiece for its thrilling gameplay, intense story and beautiful environments.

Far Cry 3 is not the first instalment YouTuber TeaserPlay has modernised with the creator releasing a concept trailer for the OG Far Cry game too. They have also reworked Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas as well as working on an open-world John Wick concept trailer so they are single-handedly contributing to the constant calls for remakes.
