Fight Night finally being revived by EA, says insider

It’s been a mighty long time since EA put out a Fight Night game, but according to leaks and an industry insider, the series may finally be revived.

As reported on Reddit, there are several sources pointing to a new Fight Night game on the horizon, including boxers themselves who are discussing the future of the franchise.

It has been 13 years since the last Fight Night release in the franchise and fans are begging for a new instalment

First up, boxer Raymond Ford posted a tweet on his Instagram account seemingly confirming the news. The tweet originally said, “Sources tell us that EA is planning to announce a Fight Night game THIS YEAR! Boxers like Jaron Ennis and Raymond Ford are already on board.”

Next up, famed boxer Oscar De La Hoya posted an old Fight Night cover to social media and stated that an announcement is coming soon.

Industry insider, Mike Straw from Insider Gaming, has said that he keeps being asked if this rumour is true and while he cannot corroborate, he has reached out to various sources.

The Fight Night franchise was once a huge push into video games by boxing and it succeeded due to its unique control scheme and the cooperation of boxers throughout the history of the sport giving their likenesses to the game.

Fans have been desperate for a revival of the series as it has been several years since anything new and, given that the sport is going through a revival itself, it makes sense for EA to pull the trigger.

While he’s a very polarising figure, you would assume that with YouTube stars like Jake Paul taking the boxing world by storm, it would be a no-brainer to get him included and bring a new, younger audience to the games.

Hopefully, some concrete news will drop soon, perhaps over this summer, but for now keep your fingers crossed.
