In a surprising turn of events Lawrence Sullivan, also known as the Florida Joker, has given up trying to sue Rockstar Games for using his likeness in GTA VI.
Ever since the first trailer for GTA VI dropped in December last year fans have been dying to see more, already theorising on what a second trailer could look like, as well as attempting to narrow down a potential 2025 release date.

However while the trailer generated a lot of hype, not everyone was amused, as Lawrence “Florida Joker” Sullivan immediately started to threaten Rockstar Games with a court case if he wasn’t paid millions for his likeness being used in the game. GTA VI will reportedly draw inspiration from several real-life Florida occurrences and memes, one of which being a mugshot of Sullivan that quickly gained him internet fame for looking like the DC supervillain, The Joker.

Sullivan continuously threatened to sue Rockstar if he wasn’t paid, with the demanded total increasing over time. He even threatened to break out the GTA VI hacker responsible for several leaks before the game’s trailer was released.
He’s since calmed down, and is now asking for a voice role in the game instead. Addressing his followers and Rockstar directly he said “Let's do what's right ... let me voice the character ... come on man ... I’m the reason the game is so hype right now.”

As always his attempts of getting Rockstar’s attention have gotten him nowhere, no matter how many empty threats or tree branches he walks through.
GTA VI will launch sometime next year for Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5. From the look of things PC players will not be able to play the game on day one, and will have to wait for a port instead.
An exact release date for the game hasn’t been shared at the time of writing, but it’ll hopefully be in the next trailer for the game.
