GTA 6 loading times are leaving fans divided

GTA VI fans are already worrying about how long the game’s loading screens will be, especially after GTA V.

I’m sure we all remember how atrocious the loading times were when GTA V first launched, and unfortunately when it was ported and enhanced for the Xbox One, PS4, PC and eventually Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5, they didn’t really get much better.

Eventually the loading screens were fixed, but surprisingly it wasn’t Rockstar Games who did the fixing.

Instead it was a player who figured out how to slash load times, prompting Rockstar Games to copy what they did and roll it out as an official update.

With GTA VI set to launch on Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 sometime next year, provided it’s not delayed, many fans are now wondering if loading screens will be just as irritating as GTA V’s when the game launches.

This was pondered in a Reddit post by Sonething3526, and while many believed the game will load at rapid speeds thanks to the latest hardware advancements, others aren’t so sure.

Some predicted it’ll be as long as GTA V’s loading times, whereas others believe it'll be more in-line with Red Dead Redemption 2’s given how that game boasts a bigger world.

Of course GTA VI is being made solely for Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5 and eventually PCs, and it’ll more than likely get a port for whatever consoles come next.

If that’s the case I’d wager loading will be quick and simple in the singleplayer, and slightly longer in the online mode if the player count is high.

That being said, it's been teased that GTA VI’s open world will be the biggest Rockstar has ever made, comparable to a US state in terms of size and scale. Obviously a world that big will definitely impede the load time in some capacity.
