Futurama Mod Of 'The Simpsons: Hit & Run' Looks Out Of This World

The Simpsons: Hit & Run is a game beloved by all. As much as I enjoyed Hit & Run’s missions though, I also spent hours on end as a kid just driving around Springfield like it was a life sim. Just me? Ok, noted. In case you missed it, one fan is actually in the process of remaking The Simpsons: Hit & Run, but today I bring you a fantastic Futurama mod.

As reported by PCGamesN, the ‘Futurama: Hit & Run’ mod is the work of a group called Donut Team. I say mod, the extensive overlay basically functions as a completely new version of the game, replacing all of the locations, vehicles and characters with alternatives from Futurama. New playable characters include Fry, Bender and Dr. Zoidberg.

Explaining the mod, Donut Team wrote, “‘Futurama: Hit & Run’ is a total conversion mod for The Simpsons: Hit & Run aiming to replicate the gameplay of Hit & Run in the world of Futurama, with all fully from scratch 3D models, built from the ground up like it was an intended expansion pack for the game.” Take a look below.

The mod isn’t yet available but if you’ve got any gaming development experience, the team are looking for some extra hands on deck - particularly if you’re a 3D modeler, graphics and textures artist, animator, or even voice actor. It’s hoped that the mod will launch in the next few months. You’d think with all the ongoing hype that The Simpsons: Hit & Run would get an official remaster. We can only dream.
