A Popular 'Bad Company 2' Map Is Being Remastered For 'Battlefield 2042'

Earlier this month publisher Electronic Arts and developer DICE confirmed that Battlefield 2042 has a secret third mode that will include remastered versions of classic maps from previous games.

This as-yet unannounced mode is rumoured to be called Battlehub, and will reportedly serve as something of a love letter to the Battlefield franchise as a whole. We've no doubt that we'll finally find out what this new mode is during the July 22 EA Play Live stream at 6pm BST. But ahead of that, it seems we now have some idea of at least one returning map.

Take a look at Battlefield 2042 in action below:

An eagle-eyed fan Reddit user by the name of VickeP_ spotted what they believe is almost certainly reference to popular Bad Company 2 map Valparaiso in one of the most recent teasers for Battlefield 2042.

As you can see via the below tweet, a brief shot from the trailer absolutely boasts a striking resemblance to the old map. Given what we already know about maps from past games returning in this mysterious third mode, I'd say we can safely assume Valparaiso is making a comeback. DICE previously described Battlehub as a "love letter" to hardcore fans and a way to allow players to "enter the wide universe of Battlefield," so I'd imagine this is just the start. If nothing else, it's nice to see EA put some respect on Bad Company 2 after all these years.

Battlefield 2042 is coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series consoles, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on October 22.
