Batman Fans Are Campaigning To Revive Ben Affleck's Solo Movie

`Fans can't get enough of the Dark Knight.

Though being a Marvel film fanatic these days grants pretty good rewards, being a DC fan can be a little hard going. While Mavel fans get The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and Wandavision, two great show back-to-back, DC fans had to fight tooth and nail to finally see Zack Snyder's Justice League. Now that the director's cut of the film is out (and it's certifiably better than the original release) audiences want to restore the Snyderverse, including a Batman film starring Ben Affleck.

It feels pretty strange that there are now no plans to give Ben Affleck a film or a HBO Max series as Batman. We got an introduction to his Bruce Wayne in Batman vs Superman which didn't go down the best with critics or audiences. And with the failure of the original Justice League, plans to continue the story of Batman and his heroics were cut short. As a result, Affleck never got to live out his own full storyline in a film. What's more heartbreaking, was that it seems that the script for the Batman film was really, really good.

Spotted by Comicbook, Jay Oliva has apparently seen the script that was meant for the Batman film and it was excellent. The quote the tweet uses says, "The original Affleck script was the best Batman script I've ever read. Ben had a kick ass story and I believe that the audience and fans would have loved it." The tweet also has a hashtag: #MakeTheBatfleckMovie which has gained quite a lot of traction - enough that it trended in the US.

Thousands of tweets from fans are calling for a continuation of Batman's story, even though we will be getting another Affleck appearance in The Flash which should be coming out in 2022, after being announced in 2014 originally. Affleck should be joined by Micheal Keaton as another Batman during the film which guarantees some hilarity I'm sure.

But with 2022's The Batman starring Robert Pattinson on the way, it might be that Affleck never gets to star in his own Wayne film sadly. Other reports are also saying that Ben Affleck wants to move on from playing Batman after his final appearance in The Flash is finished. So despite fan enthusiasm for the character, it might look like Batsy's time is up.
