Here at GAMINGbible we're absolutely loving Brendan Fraser's long-awaited and thoroughly well-deserved career comeback... much like the rest of the internet is, to be honest.

Fraser established himself as an icon of early 00's action movies through hits like The Mummy and George Of The Jungle. These days he's back in action in DC's underrated Doom Patrol and is gearing up to star in Martin Scorsese's Apple TV movie Killers Of The Flower Moon, and Max Barbakow's Brothers. Watching fans celebrate this comeback, alongside Fraser's own response to that support and love has been a delight.

Take a look at Fraser in action in The Mummy below. Simply a masterclass in affable swashbuckling star power.

With Fraser back on our screens as well as our hearts, fans are already dreaming up all manner of new roles for him. If he took every single one he'd probably be the busiest man in Hollywood, but there have been some solid shouts. A few weeks ago one fan pitched a final chapter in The Mummy franchise in which Fraser's character returns to fight Hitler, which... yes please.

Now, fans on Reddit are calling for the actor to star in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. I've no doubt that had the MCU sprang to life back in the early 00s Fraser would have made an unforgettable Steve Rogers. That spot has since been filled, of course, so which hero could Fraser play that's truly worthy of the actor himself? Reddit has the perfect answer. Brendan Fraser should play... Brendan Fraser.

Responding to an excellent article in Stealth Optional about how it's time to bring Fraser into the MCU fold, the Reddit thread it spawned all agreed that the man should just be himself.

"Just (a) friend of one of the Avengers that he happened to meet in a bar," one user suggested. "Actually I want that to be a whole movie."

"[Brendan] just keeps showing up places and saying 'Hey guys!' like he does and inadvertently saving the day," added another. "All the superheroes try to take him down and fail, but while they're fighting this normal guy for hurting their pride an evil entity from another dimension is released. As hordes of demons attack the city, all the supers are too busy fighting them to shut down the macguffin that opened the portal, so they need him to go save the world."

Somebody get Kevin Feige on the phone immediately.
