Call Of Duty Fans Aren't Happy With Frank Woods In 'Warzone'

A Frank admission.

The long-rumoured Call Of Duty: Warzone X Black Ops crossover is finally here, but the fans are far from thrilled with what they've been given.

With the announcement of Black Ops Cold War confirming the return of classic protagonist Frank Woods, longtime Black Ops devotees were enthused at the prospect of playing as the Special Agent in Infinity Ward's free-to-play battle royale ahead of the new game's November launch. Unfortunately, the Frank Woods in Warzone doesn't look... anything like you'd expect - or want.

"Woods, you look like hammered shit," wrote one user who was clearly unimpressed with the character's "new" look.

"Hahahahahahahhahahahahahahhahahahahahaha," added another insightful gamer who seems good and ready to laugh at the situation. You have to respect that. Many of the comments on the Reddit thread continued in much the same vein.

As pointed out by GameRant, Warzone and Black Ops Cold War run on different engines, so bringing Frank Woods to the battle royale wouldn't have been as easy as plucking him from one game and dropping him straight into another. For the most part, a lot of players are fairly accepting of this fact... especially the PC gamers who can simply tweak their settings until Woods looks more like he's supposed to.

It's unclear if this unusual-looking Woods will be getting a redesign in the near future. For now, we'll just have to deal with this strange lookalike while we play Warzone. While I'm not particularly bothered about the way he looks, the fact Woods is supposed to be a pre-order bonus for people who commit to Black Ops Cold War early could be construed as a bit of a kick in the teeth for the die-hard fans out there.

In other Black Ops Cold War news, a recent leak suggested that the game will be taking a step back towards a more traditional Call Of Duty experience. Reliable Call Of Duty leaker called Tom Henderson recently took to Twitter to share new information involving specialist weapons and scorestreaks.

"A lot of the specialist weapons from BO 3/4 will be returning but as scorestreaks this year," he wrote. "The Flamethrower, Hand Cannon, Bow, Grenade Launcher and Death Machine are currently on the list. There's currently 18 streaks in Black Ops Cold War.

"This could also be the first year where we get new scorestreaks added throughout the games cycle, as there's still several more streaks that have been designed but not yet implemented."

Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is expected to launch on November 13th, so Activision and Treyarch will likely have more news to share with us soon.
