An operator skin in Call Of Duty: Warzone that was recently dubbed as "pay-to-win" by an increasingly irritated community has now become one of the most popular cosmetic options in the entire game. Go figure.
Earlier this week we reported on the fans who were asking Activision to remove Roze's "Rook" skin from the battle royale. This skin is a Tier 100 reward from the Season 5 Battle Pass, one that's almost impossible to spot in darker areas of the map thanks to the fact the skin is covered from head to toe in black paint and dark camo.
"I'm reaching a boiling point with this game. My luck is terrible as it is, but I'm starting to really dislike the play style most people have. I'll run around and be tactical but I literally always die to someone who doesn't move. It's literally a game of hide until you see someone run across your screen," said APx_22 on Reddit.

Despite having been around for several weeks now, the Rook skin has slowly been getting more popular, causing more fans to complain about those using it... which in turn somehow makes the skin even more popular. It's a bit of a vicious cycle, really.
Redditor caribou_drew recently pointed out an entire lobby packed with Roze Rook skins waiting to drop into an actual competitive Warzone tournament. Some players are so done with this skin and its newfound popularity in the game that they're describing it as a "scourge", with several adding that if they spot someone in the same game as them with the Rook skin on, they'll make it their mission to drop everything else and hunt them down. Scary stuff.

Things are clearly coming to a head here, and fans and multiple prominent Call Of Duty players are begging Activision take Rook off the board, or at least update its appearance so it can be better seen in the dark.
Activision has yet to comment on the surge in Rooks on the battlefield, so for now we're just gonna have to do what we can to stay extra frosty out there.
