Chaturbate is a new video games streaming platform that's coming for a slice of the Twitch pie. Only, it's not. A video games streaming platform, that is. It's a pornographic live-cams site where models, y'know, get undressed for money (that's cool, no judging here). It is adding games streaming to its services, though, as Kotaku reports. And I'm glad they have, cos I have no idea what I'm talking about here.
Not that I don't understand what live-cam sites are, you understand. Oh no, I can already see the HR department getting the email ready. It's more: why video games, and why now? I guess the best answer is also the most simple one: why not? Loads and loads and loads of people enjoy video games, and loads and loads and loads of people enjoy sex, so... Put the two on the same video-streaming platform and it's quite possibly quids in for those involved.

To loop back to Kotaku, its report states that Chaturbate will only allow its talent to stream games from a list of approved titles - and that list right now is pretty short. It includes a game called Log Jammers, which I own on Evercade via the Mega Cat Studios compilation, and has completely nothing to do with anything smutty despite the potential offered by its title. Which may disappoint you.

Chaturbate has posted a note to Twitter asking developers to add their games to the list of approved titles, if they like. They confirm that yes, indeed, "broadcasters can now officially play video games on Chaturbate!" And amongst the other approved games so far are, um, some experiences that definitely aren't like the innocent axe-throwing arcade sports release Log Jammers.
For example: Anal Masters. Not gonna look too deeply into that one. And there's also Night Party, which is "an erotic quest with a first-person perspective". Kinda like Skyrim then, gotcha. SpunkStock's been added, which will please fans of - checks notes - "combination lewd and rhythm games". Guitar Hero, but with its pants down, I guess. And then there's a "hentai Metroidvania" called Crisis Point: Extinction, which with a title like that could be any new shooter from an EA or Ubisoft, really; and the adults-only Future Fragments, which is a 2D action-platformer in a classic run-and-gun style with added oh god don't watch the trailer.
Streaming only pre-approved games should keep Chaturbate free of pesky content violations. Which is nice for them, and for users who just want to see a lady play a video game with their top off. Perhaps bigger publishers will see this as an opportunity to mix their business with someone else's pleasure. (Checks word count.) Okay cool, we're done. I apologise for everything.
