On PlayStation 4, Cyberpunk 2077 will be 70GB in size, and will apparently be installed across two Blu-Ray discs.
This is the same size as Cyberpunk 2077 for PC, which makes sense with the scope and the scrupulousness of the upcoming dystopian RPG. And, when I say "scrupulousness," I mean "scrupulousness." As well as a dizzying number of options for the protagonist's appearance, ranging from hairstyles, skin types, cyberware, scars, makeup, and pubic hair, there's even a slider for length of fingernails and types of teeth. This is a game that is played in first-person perspective, as a reminder.
The protagonist will also hail from one of three possible origin stories, which will give rise to differing effects in the branching storylines of Cyberpunk 2077. And, the Street Stories (sort of like contracts for a mercenary) offer three times the number of ways to solve a quest as there were in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. But, this level of detail and player agency is one of the trademarks of an RPG from CD Projekt Red, and its dedication to the craft has led to the multiple delays of Cyberpunk 2077.

Though the game has gone gold (meaning that it's ready to be produced into physical copies), Night City and its denizens still need a touch up or two... or ten. "We feel we have an amazing game on our hands and are willing to make every decision, even the hardest ones, if it ultimately leads to you getting a video game you'll fall in love with," explained the developer. It's now going to be released for every single one of its nine platforms on December 10th, though CD Projekt Red wasn't overly enthusiastic about the new release date.
Anyway! A leaker by the name of AltChar claims that they've been in contact with an anonymous individual who provided them with photos of the game's PlayStation 4 box. It states that there are digital goodies, stickers, postcards, a physical copy of the game map, a world compendium, and two Blu-Ray discs. Now, this isn't a totally retro choice, though I remember the excitement of the fact that The Sims 2 had four different discs for installation.
Red Dead Redemption 2 and The Last of Us Part 2 also arrived on two different discs, though these games are much bigger than the modest 70GB required for Cyberpunk 2077. This information is important for those who pre-ordered the physical edition of the game, and hopefully, with another Night City Wire event imminent, the developer can confirm whether it is installed across two discs.
