The hit cartoon, which originally ran from 1994 to 1998, was one of the few Spider-Man solo outings on the streaming service. Due to complicated legal and contractual obligations with Sony, none of Spidey's movies - including his two MCU films - are available on Disney Plus yet. That just leaves a small handful of animated shows of varying quality for anyone looking to get their fix of wallcrawling action.

Of all the Spider-Man cartoons on Disney Plus, Spider-Man: The Animated Series was quite clearly the best of the bunch*. That's why fans everywhere are seriously confused as to where it's gone.
The good news is that Twitter user PeteyBatts reached out to the Disney Plus helpline and received confirmation that the show will be returning to the service at some point. The bad news is we still don't know why it left in the first place, or when exactly it's coming back. At the time of writing it's definitely not available in the UK.
Don't worry folks. Spider-Man 1994 will be added back to Disney+ at a later date. pic.twitter.com/k9FEJTMN0Z- Patty Bates (@PeteyBatts) April 27, 2021
"Thanks for getting in touch with us regarding Spider-Man missing from the Disney Plus service! I completely understand your frustration here, but please know that we are aware of this issue and are actively working towards a resolution," the message explains.
"Spider-Man (1994) will be returning to the service shortly, but we do not have any specific dates to share at this time. I would suggest checking the Disney Plus app at a later date."
I'll be honest, I didn't have a particular hankering to watch Spider-Man: The Animated Series while it was on Disney Plus. Now it's gone, it's all I can think about. Isn't that always the way?
*Spectacular Spider-Man is obviously the best Spidey cartoon ever made, but that has never been on Disney Plus for some reason. Sort it out Disney, you cowards.
