Every now and again it's nice to remember that there are genuinely good people out there who do nice things for each other just to be kind. You can imagine what a treat it was, then, when I stumbled across a wholesome af Reddit thread posted by a grandson who was looking to build their grandad a PC so that they could enjoy Microsoft Flight Simulator.

Over on the buildapc Subreddit, ProblyLosingSomehow explained that their grandad was a pilot his entire life, but that he could no longer fly.

"He wanted me to get him a good setup so he can play as realistic of a flight sim that he can play in VR," the Redditor explained. "Preferably 4K. I'm very uninformed when it comes to pc builds so that's why I'm posting here. I've compiled a final list of everything he needs and want to see if anyone can help to make sure I'm not recommending the wrong equipment."

What followed was a genuinely sweet exchange between gamers as they offered advice and help in building the right PC for the veteran aviator. ProblyLosingSomehow has since thanked everyone for their help, even expressing surprise at just how much their initial request blew up. They also shared a great photo of their grandad and his plane, just in case you thought this story wasn't already ridiculously wholesome enough.

From the sounds of it, ProblyLosingSomehow is still making the final checks before they start making purchases and putting everything together. Here's hoping when their grandad finally has everything set up we can see pictures of the old pilot back in the sky after all these years. A fantastic reminder that video games should be for people of all ages, and they we should never underestimate just how transformative they can be.
