Rockstar Games parent company Take-Two Interactive has expressed its intention to bring more of its existing games to next-gen consoles. This comes just several weeks after the news that both Grand Theft Auto V and Grand Theft Auto Online will be ported to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X with enhanced features and exclusive content.
Take-Two, which also owns the likes of 2K and Private Division, revealed the news during an earnings call Q&A session earlier this week. As reported by VGC, CEO Strauss Zelnick said: "In terms of your question about other older titles being brought to next-gen consoles, we always leave those announcements to our labels, but I'm sure there will be more in the future."
Rockstar Games confirmed that GTA V will receive an "expanded and enhanced" version on PS5 and Xbox Series X in the second half of 2021. GTA Online will also be released as a standalone game with brand-new content unavailable to players on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

We don't really know exactly what the studio has planned for these ports, but it did tease "a range of technical improvements, visual upgrades and performance enhancements to take full advantage of the console's powerful new hardware, making the game more beautiful and more responsive than ever".
If Take-Two has its eyes on porting more older titles to next-gen, we'd have to assume that the company is more immediately referring to current-gen releases. I certainly wouldn't bet against Red Dead Redemption 2 and Red Dead Online receiving a similar treatment to GTA V and its online mode. Borderlands 3 will likely end up on next-gen machines, too.
While far less likely, Zelnick's comments do leave the door slightly open for even older titles to be ported to next-gen. Who among us wouldn't love to see PlayStation 2-era classics like Bully, Manhunt, or GTA: San Andreas given a lick of paint and a new lease of life in 2021 and beyond? We also know that Rockstar is currently working on a brand-new Grand Theft Auto title, although it's yet to be specified if it's GTA VI or something completely different. Recent rumours have suggested that the new project will see players return to Vice City, a familiar location for an entirely new game. Rockstar is an incredibly secretive company, however, so we won't really know what's going on with the studio until it's ready to share something official.
