The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is a game filled with tough moral dilemmas and choices with unforeseen consequences, but the hardest decision of all is who Geralt should give his heart to.

In the final game of the trilogy, Geralt Of Rivia can sleep with plenty of women, but there are only two that he's in love with. The first is Yennefer of Vengerberg , an ice-cold sorceress with an eternal bond to the Witcher and a complicated history going back centuries. The second is Triss Merigold, a tough-but-kind Temerian sorceress who is, in many ways, the complete opposite of Yennefer.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt asks you to choose between these women. You can also pick both (or neither), but it's definitely more satisfying (and a little less scummy) if you pick just one of your great loves to settle down with. This is where many, many arguments come into play, as gamers can't agree over which of the two women is the "right" one for Geralt.

While the books almost certainly lean towards Yennefer as Geralt's one true love, the games provide a much more compelling argument for Triss, meaning The Witcher fans have essentially fallen into two camps. While it's an argument that's unlikely to be settled any time soon (if ever), Netflix's The Witcher star Henry Cavill did bravely step into the fray to offer his own opinion. Given that he plays Geralt, his argument definitely carries a little more weight than ours.

Speaking at CCXP2019, Cavill revealed that he always goes with Yennefer in The Witcher 3. He explained while there's certain a "powerful" element to Geralt's relationship with Triss, what he and Yennefer share is true love, which is why Geralt will always go back to her in the end.

Take a look at the video for yourself below, or via this link.

I'd assume that after filming season one of The Witcher, which takes way more from the books than the games, Cavill feels even more of a connection with Yennefer, brilliantly played in the live-action show by Anya Chalotra. Triss also makes a brief appearance in the first season, played by Anna Shaffer... but will we see her and Geralt involved in a more romantic capacity? We'll have to wait and see what future episodes bring.
