The Witcher 3 direct sequel officially arriving next month

With news that The Witcher 4 may not feature our favourite silver-haired Witcher, a direct sequel to The Witcher 3 is set to arrive next month with Geralt at the helm.

Following the news that CD Projekt Red were starting development of The Witcher 4, many fans were eager to know whose story the next instalment would follow. However, with confirmation that it won’t be Geralt of Rivia, many players are heartbroken.

However, all is not lost as CD Projekt Red have teamed up with Dark Horse Comics to release a brand-new comic book series following Geralt’s life after the events of The Witcher 3.

Titled The Witcher: Corvo Bianco, the series synopsis reads as follows: “For a witcher, the simple life can be hard to come by, and even harder to pass up. When Geralt acquires a taste for a slower pace—good wine, and good company—the routines of a witcher are easily eclipsed.

With Yennefer at his side, one might hope that Geralt will truly get to enjoy a taste of the good life. But the stains of history are deep, and with blood and wine, every drop attracts those who want more.”

It will be written by famed Witcher storyteller Bartosz Sztybor alongside many other talented contributors such as colourist Matteo Vattani and letterer Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou.

Finally, the volume’s beautiful cover art was designed by the talented Tonci Zonjic (Skulldigger and Skeleton Boy, Shadowman), Neyef (Bayou Bastardise, Puta Madre), and Jorge Molina (X-Men, Birds of Prey).

"For all who know Geralt, Corvo Bianco is his endgame," said Sztybor. "The end of his journey, one and only place where he can retire – taking a break from killing monsters and trying to figure out how to make his own wine.

“As a fan of pop–culture and postmodern genre mixing, that setup above sounded like a perfect premise for a western,” he continued. “A western in The Witcher world – that’s something that was never done before!

The Witcher: Corvo Bianco volume 1 of 5 will be released on 8 May.
