'Minecraft' Looks So Much Cooler When You Swap Blocks For LEGO Bricks

The creativity of Minecraft's community astounds us every day and this texture pack that recreates the look of Lego bricks on the blocks is something that is absolutely inspired.

MineBricks, from modder Macio6 Productions, transforms blocks into realised and wonderful worlds built from Lego bricks and the effect is eye-popping. Furthermore, combining this with compatible shaders like Nostalgia, SEUS Renewed, Chocapic and BSL spotlights how perfectly simple the effect is with a plasticy shine to every block and brick. The work that's gone into the mod is impressive, and what's even more impressive is that you can grab this texture pack for free from its official website.

That'll give you the 128x and 256x resource pack resolution, but if you can spare $5, the pack is also available in 512x and 1024x resolutions. Recently, a super realistic texture pack for Minecraft was doing the rounds and generally making us very uncomfortable. I mean, each to their own, but seeing photorealistic trees standing tall in a quadrilateral column... it's like an alien trying to draw what it thinks Earth is.

Check out this faithful reproduction of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time in Minecraft, which even contains secrets and quests from the original game.

Fans of Dream, the masked Minecraft YouTuber who admitted to cheating in his speedruns of the game, were tripping over themselves with excitement that just a strand of his hair was visible in an Instagram post. The content creator is protective over his identity but that was never his intention at the start of his streaming career.

"I just blew up so quickly and then it kinda became a part of the fanart, a part of the community so quickly. It was not a calculated move, it was just kind of something that happened," he said in an interview in June. He also added that the mask was something that allowed him to switch off from the struggles of his real life and connect with new friends through gaming.

At the moment, he's turned his attention to music and recently revealed a new song with singer-songwriter Alec Benjamin. While photos of the two together suggested that there might be a music video waiting in the wings, fans are satisfied seeing Dream in a suit for the time being.
