New Avengers Campus Theme Park Looks Incredible In Preview Footage

This… does put a smile on my face

The all-new Avengers Campus theme park area, at the Disney California Adventure Park, has hosted its opening ceremony - and with preview video of its attractions now out there, in the public, we have to say: take us there, immediately.

(Or, rather, wait until this pandemic thing has passed somewhat more convincingly, and then take us, not-so immediately. Thanks.)

CNN has posted a comprehensive preview, and the YouTube channel Ordinary Adventures has a video tour of the Avengers Campus, which you can (and should!) watch below...

Marvel fans are sure to already know about what's in store for punters at this new, six-acre part of the Adventure Park, but using the video above, let's break it down anyway. The star of the show is WEB-SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure, where guests get to participate in an interactive experience, using web-shooters to take out malfunctioning Spider-Bots. Watch out for microtransactions!

Actors roam the Campus (that's, ahem, "Centralized Assembly Mobilized to Prepare, Unite, and Safeguard"), including someone dressed as Spidey (not Tom Holland, lol), and someone as one of Black Panther's Dora Milaje bodyguards. The Ancient Sanctum sees Doctor Strange demonstrate some of his mystical powers; and what used to be Disney's Tower of Terror has been repurposed as a Guardians of the Galaxy-themed ride, Mission Breakout.

An on-site restaurant is dressed as Pym's Test Kitchen, referencing the scientist Hank Pym from Ant-Man. As CNN's coverage shows, it'll serve you a huge chicken fillet in a tiny bun, in a nod to the shrinking and growing of the Ant-Man movies. Obviously there's also loads of merch and souvenirs to buy - and the general public will be able to do all of that when the Avengers Campus opens on June 4 (tomorrow!).
