The hoodie will be “specially designed to enhance the audio experience.”

Ninja, the streamer whose career shot sky-high through Fortnite, has announced that he has designed a hoodie that lets you wear headphones comfortably and ensure high-quality audio.

Honestly, looking at the 'Gamer Hoodie,' I'm not sure that I understand the appeal. Ninja, also known as Richard Tyler Blevins, explains that the balance of sound quality and comfort was what inspired him to develop this garment. "I've always loved wearing my hood up with my headphones whether I'm traveling & listening to music or gaming," says the streamer in the post to Twitter. "So excited to be releasing my patent pending hoodie that allows you to do either of those without changing your sound quality." In the photos, the models show off how the hood has mesh circles where the on-ear headphones would sit.

By making the material thinner where the person's ears are, Ninja claims that the hoodie has been "specially designed to enhance the audio experience." The hoodies come in black, pink, red, and grey, and feature the "Ninja" logo embroidered on the left of the chest. It's a "fully customised street wear fit for ultimate comfort and style whether gaming, traveling, or going out," and still, I'm not sold. I just don't think this counts as "specially designed" duds when all that's changed is that a section of the hood is made from polymesh.

Furthermore, a fan has raised a possible problem with the design. As aforementioned, the panels are circular, but this doesn't account for everyone's different ear levels on their heads. @itsdeenuu on Twitter suggested that the panel should be rectangular in shape, so that it wouldn't matter where your ears (and ergo, the headphones) are on the hood.

And, a "specially designed" hoodie because your music isn't as loud as you'd like it to be? Just wear the headphones underneath! Or, cut out holes which will fit your headphones, so you'll be a dead ringer for Super Hans. Both approaches assure that you won't be $70 out of pocket, too.

Really though, it's no skin off my nose if you've fallen in love with the hoodie and its unique design. It's just not for me. Ninja stated that the hoodies will be available for purchase from the official Ninja merch website from 12.00pm PST / 2.00pm CT / 3.00pm EST / 8.00pm GMT. And, you've got to hand it to him, Ninja is an entrepreneurial guy. In 2018, he collaborated with Astralwerks to release Ninjawerks, his own album with Alesso, Tycho, and Nero featuring on original songs. Then, he published Ninja: Get Good: My Ultimate Guide to Gaming in 2019, which taught gamers how to improve their skills in a general sense. He'll even have a role playing himself in the upcoming Free Guy, which stars Ryan Reynolds as an NPC who has escaped his coding.
