Nintendo Switch Pro Images Are Beginning To Surface Online, Apparently

Maybe it's the real deal

There are alleged images of the Nintendo Switch Pro appearing online. The follow-up console to 2017's Switch is apparently due to be revealed any day now. Though there hasn't been any official announcement about a new console, leaks and rumours have hinted at its existence, and we've even seen pre-order links go live only to vanish, again. And now an image has appeared online claiming to be a genuine shot of what the console will look like.

The origin of this picture is unknown to us, but it has appeared on Reddit on Gaming Leaks and Rumours. User The Weeknd_ posted the image without much to go on other than a title that reads "First Leak from Nintendo Switch Pro?" and a link to the image.

As more graphically intense games come to the Switch, like Respawn's Apex Legends, a Nintendo Switch Pro would really help the console keep up with other platforms...

The picture is a close-up shot of the alleged console, perhaps showing the new dock and definitely featuring a single Joy-Con. If this image is to be believed, the console will be available in white and grey (at least), the screen's bezels are significantly reduced (as expected) and the front panel of the dock is gone. The latter will be a welcome change to those who, unfortunately, scratched the screen of their Switches over time when slotting it in and out of the original dock.

As one Reddit user notes, if this is indeed a fake, it's a pretty good one. There are elements of this Switch that are clearly reminiscent of the console's original format while improving items like the larger screen size.

It's a mystery if this console really is the Switch we'll be seeing in days, weeks, or months - but I can personally say I'd be happy to see Nintendo release something along these lines. We'll see soon enough (or, maybe not) if this leak is the real deal.
