Ryan Reynold seems to be teasing the return of anti-hero Deadpool in an Instagram story. The actor, who's played the mercenary in two previous movies, has shown off a little teaser to get fans excited for a return to the Marvel property. But, it's worth remembering that we're still waiting on any official news about what Deadpool 3 will be about.

As reported by Comicbook, the Canadian actor took to his Instagram story to post a picture of his backpack. Resting on a table with a coffee next to it is a bag with a familiar red mask poking out of the top. It's Deadpool's, obviously, and perhaps the rest of the costume is in the duffle bag to the left. But other than that we have no idea what this means.

If you're missing Deadpool's sense of humour, did you know you can get his decapitated head for your shelf?

The return of Deadpool was already confirmed about six months ago. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige said that Deadpool 3 will join in with the MCU and be an R-Rated movie. Marvel has been reluctant to allow its movies to get into 18+ territory as they prioritise family-friendly media. Reynolds, on the other hand, pushed for an R-Rated Deadpool film for years, saying to the LA Times that "nobody wanted to do a PG-13 Deadpool". Eventually, he got his wish and upon release 2016's Deadpool became the biggest R-Rated film to hit the box office. Since then, the only movies to have beaten its worldwide box office release numbers are Deadpool 2 and Joker, showing Marvel and the world that R-Rated superhero films have a lot of fans.

This new hint suggests that the production of Deadpool 3 is underway and it will probably film sometime in 2022. We haven't heard anything about its plot or what characters are going to be returning, except the 'Merc With A Mouth' of course. We might see Domino once again, played by Zazie Beetz; and I sure hope we see Negasonic Teenage Warhead and Colossus at the very least. The writing team is confirmed as Bob's Burgers' Wendy Molyneaux and Lizzie Molyneaux-Loeglin, so we know it'll be funny if nothing else.
