Deadpool 3 is releasing six months earlier than planned

In the world of games and movies, we’re constantly hearing about things getting pushed back, indefinitely delayed, and sometimes even permanently cancelled. Obviously, it’s always best for creators to take their time with whatever projects they’re working on. With movies in particular, you can’t so simply amend things later down the line like you can with games if they end up being a flop.

That’s why it’s so surprising to hear of the exact opposite thing happening - when a release date for a movie is brought forward. As LADbible reports, it’s been confirmed that the highly anticipated Deadpool 3 will be releasing half a year sooner than we expected. Rejoice!

In case you were out of the loop, up to this point, Deadpool 3 was set to release on 8 November 2024. Quite a wait, huh? Now though, to save you doing the maths, the film is scheduled to hit cinemas on 3 May 2024 instead, meaning we now have less than a year to wait for it. Our total wait time has been cut down by 16,329,600 seconds, in case you were wondering.

Perhaps the strangest thing about this is that the film was previously delayed - the original plan was for it to come out on 6 September 2024, so it seems that the crew didn’t end up needing that extra time. In fact, they needed even less than they ever expected. As odd as it is, fans definitely won’t be complaining.

We’re still yet to see a trailer for Deadpool 3, but based on comments that have previously been made about it, it sounds like we’re in for a good time. Despite Disney now owning the rights to the merc with a mouth, Marvel boss Kevin Feige stated that the film “will be rated R”. This was later reiterated by writer Rhett Reese, who claimed that Marvel is “gonna let Deadpool be Deadpool”, and the third film is “not going to be the Disney-fied Deadpool”.

With the release date suddenly much closer than ever, let’s hope that we won’t be waiting too long to see our first glimpse of the film.
