'Saving Private Ryan' Deaths Redubbed With Gamers Raging At Each Other

War, war sometimes changes

I'm not sure what more needs saying here, except: here's a video of deaths in the 1998 war classic Saving Private Ryan, but overdubbed with the sounds of gamers gently losing their sh*t.

Like, that's it. That's the post. Or, more accurately, that's this post, on Reddit (as covered too, by GamesRadar+). Writes Reddit user elvoggo on the CODWarzone subreddit: "I added my favourite death chats I have received to Saving Private Ryan. Thank me later, Spielberg."

You'll want to watch this, so, do, via the video below. (If it's not there, try refreshing, because I assure you, it's there.) Please do note that some of the language is entirely, expectedly, NSFW, so have those headphones on. Some of the images, too, are graphic and could cause distress, as this film did not pull many of its punches.

It's the last one, the very last one, that cuts deepest. Nearly spat out my tea with that one (not sure what that says about me, but I do now need to change my shirt). There's no doubt that this edit brings some laughs to a movie that is unrelentingly grim (in a good, you-should-watch-it way), and other Call of Duty: Warzone players on Reddit have enjoyed its mixing of players getting KOed and multi-award-winning cinema.

"I didn't know I needed this video in my life," writes one user. Well, you do now. Another adds, simply, "perfect, lol." Another, "This is quality, right here." And yes, it is - but there are also plenty of comments about Saving Private Ryan, too, and the impact the Steven Spielberg-directed, Tom Hanks-starring World War II epic had on viewers.

One reply to the video post reads, "I get like a mild panic every time I remember some of the scenes in the movie, even decades later." Another reveals "I passed out during this scene (of the medic's death) when we were watching it in American History class in high school." But just to ground it in the LOLs once more, a comment sweeps in with, "that ending was hysterical I'm red laughing so hard. He f*cking went there lmao."

He sure did. He sure did. In related Call of Duty news, some 350,000 players have now been banned for racist and toxic behaviour, and one of the franchise's most notable executives has transferred over to EA's Battlefield series. And if you're in the mood for more Warzone-related laughs, do check out our own wins and fails video, below.
